Moonling Wedding
Weddings....Recently I had the privilege of shooting another wedding. I absolutely love shooting happy people. Whether moms to be, newborns, children, seniors or newlyweds. This was a moonlight wedding that was supposed to be a wedding at sunset. But as we all know, the West Texas sunsets do not wait for anyone and was gone in the blink of an eye.
This wedding broke my heart. One of those that you have great expectations for and then the bottom falls out. You know...we've all had them. Wind blowing 100 mph, sun setting too fast, family members missing and then....I have to smile. My tripod with my wonderful Canon Mark ii camera and Canon 100-400mm lens, along with my 580 ex flash goes crashing to the ground from my heavy duty tripod. I smile and pretend it's all ok as $5,000 worth of equipment hits a rock and lands into sand.
Ever have those times when you could just close your eyes and make it all be GOOD?

New Venture
Several years ago, I purchased an old building here in Colorado City. My husband I restored it and there is where I currently have my business "Lulu Boyd Photography" set up. After much praying and hoping, another old historic building came up for sale due to back taxes. I was able to purchase this building and I have a vision of what a wonderful place this could be with a LOT of HARD WORK and some money of course. I have lot more ability to work hard than I have money, but God has blessed me in so many ways, I am trusting it all to work out. It may take a while, but sometimes that is where a dream begins. This is how it looks today and I can't even begin to show the mess inside, but I will keep you posted on success and failures as we begin this new adventure.

Fun Day in West Texas
As with most things I get a little bored.
So my 365 days ended up being 172 Days of Photography.
Sometimes you just get too busy with life to always keep on track.
I've been doing Senior Shoots for 2013 and wow, do I love them.
I've shot mostly boys and it sometimes is a challenge.
Girls are always smiling, posing and just work the camera.
But a couple of the young men I've shot so far have been fun!
By the time the shoot is over, we are like buddies and they are relaxing
and the shooting begins!
